Roger Davis Deutsch - President and CEO

Roger Deutsch has performed pioneering research in the field of food and chemical sensitivity testing for over 24 years.  He is a co-developer of the ALCAT Test, a unique, patented method for identifying cellular reactions to foods, chemicals and other substances, through non-IgE mediated pathways. The ALCAT Test is a simple blood test performed in many laboratories and clinics throughout the world.   He is co-author of the book series, Your Hidden food Allergies are Making You Fat, as well as several articles on this topic.  He frequently lectures on these topics to both professional and lay audiences world wide.  Roger serves as the CEO of Cell Science Systems, Corp. (Deerfield Beach Florida).  Cell Science Systems is an integrated medical diagnostics and health care company on the cutting edge in the field of food intolerance diagnostics and management.   He is also the CEO of ALCAT Europe (GmbH, Berlin, Germany). 


Fred Pescatore, M.D., M.P.H. - Medical Director 

Fred Pescatore, MD, is a traditionally trained physician who practices nutritional medicine. He is the author of the New York Times best-selling book, The Hamptons Diet, and the number 1 best-selling children's health book, Feed Your Kids Well. His latest book, The Allergy and Asthma Cure was re-released in March 2008.  His other book titles include: Thin for Good and The Hamptons Diet Cookbook.

For five years, Dr. Fred was the Associate Medical Director of The Atkins Center for Complementary Medicine before starting his own center with an extremely busy and popular practice in New York City. 

Dr. Pescatore is internationally recognized as a health, nutrition and weight loss expert. He often travels around the world lecturing in such exotic locales as India and Japan – usually returning with some new medical technique to share with his patients. He also lectures across America and is actively involved in clinical research. He has written numerous papers and magazine articles in addition to his books. After medical school, Dr. Fred studied in Southeast Asia, India, Japan, Africa, and Europe. The techniques he gathered have become part of his broad knowledge of healing. He delights in adding to his knowledge and then sharing it with his patients and colleagues.
 
Dr. Pescatore’s work has been featured on such shows as The View, The Today Show, Day and Date, The O'Reilly Factor, Extra and many more. He has spoken on hundreds of radio shows across America. In fact, for years, he was heard daily as the host of the number 1 health radio show in New York City called, The Logical Alternative. Because of the respect Dr. Fred has earned in the nutritional supplement industry, he is a consultant for many firms and has been instrumental in developing and clinically testing many of the leading nutritional products. He is the President of the AHCC Research Association, President of the International and American Association of Clinical Nutritionists, member of the National Association of Physician Broadcasters, and belongs to many more professional organizations.


Samy Puccio - Vice President, Manufacturing 

Samy Puccio is the Vice President of Manufacturing and is one of the key developers of the ROBOCat II instrument, the test agent cassette and the ALCAT Test.  He has been involved with the research and development of the ALCAT Test since its conception in 1984 including performing research studies, method development, instrument programming, data analysis and reagent development.  He directed the design and development of the new ROBOCat II in 2000 and currently manages the manufacturing department and the international business deployment, responsible for technical support, installations and presentations throughout our international community.  Samy has over 20 years of experience in information technology, immunology, system integration, quality engineering, FDA and ISO regulatory compliance and Good Manufacturing Practices. He attended both the University of Miami and Florida International University and has undergraduate degrees in Chemistry and Mathematical Sciences.  Samy is fluent in Italian, French and Spanish. He currently resides in Coral Springs, Florida with his wife, son and daughter. He enjoys sports, movies and is an avid fisherman.


Lee Rolnick - Director of Sales and Marketing

Lee Rolnick is the Director of Sales and Marketing for Cell Science Systems.  His primary focus is to manage the inside and outside sales teams and oversee the marketing programs for ALCAT USA.  Prior to working at CSS he was an advertising executive for About.com/Prime Media and was a Regional Sales Manager for IDT Telecom’s private label calling card division.  Lee graduated from Hofstra University with a BS in Business Administration and currently resides in Boca Raton, FL with his wife and two sons, Lane and Ethan.


Lynne S. Broderick, PhD

More than 25 years of experience in the healthcare industry starting with founding a small independent laboratory in 1982, BDK Laboratories, which created a niche for itself by performing the more esoteric testing such a Chlamydia cultures, Mycoplasma cultures, viral cultures, and ELISA testing, which was relatively new at that time.  I have held my Clinical Laboratory Director License for over 25 years also. Set-up, staffed and equipped the Microbiology and Serology Depts.for a medium-sized, full service independent clinical laboratory, Institute for Laboratory Medicine..

Then entered the medical diagnostic industry.Firstly in the Technical Support field which then progressed to responsibilities for Quality Control and Quality Assurance and then to Research and Product development as well as Regulatory Affairs. Spent 16 years in this industry,14 years of which were spent in a Vice President position.

Associated with AMTL/Cell Science Systems for over 10 years and have served as Director of the Clinical Laboratory for this time period. Since 2008 I have also served as Cell Science System’s director of Research and Development involved in the development of new, complementary technologies as well as expanding the current technologies employed by this facility.


James M. Blum, PhD

Dr. Blum has a broad educational base and a long history of combined medical consultation and research. He has earned a BS degree in electrical engineering and has MS in regulatory biology, biostatistics and epidemiology, and a Doctorate in Clinical Research.

He worked in cardiac surgery at the Cleveland Clinic conducting biomedical engineering work and outcomes research. His work in cardiac risk-stratification was rewarded by a featured JAMA article. Later, he ran clinical research departments at several institutions in Cleveland and in Maine which were devoted to clinical trials and outcomes research that spanned all major clinical departments.

He has taught at two different medical schools and then began his own clinical research company that specialized in designing and conducting clinical trials for supplements and integrative medical practices. While working on various weight loss trials, he developed and refined diet elimination approaches that were wildly successful for weight management.

Several years ago, he came to south Florida and joined the ALCAT team because of his affinity towards elimination diets. He now runs the Research and Development, Nutrition, and provider liaison. He has helped define the ALCAT system that includes a leaky gut and detoxification protocols that appear crucial in reducing inflammatory symptoms in patients with autoimmune conditions. He has a running outcomes study of those individuals doing the program that spans a wide range of conditions that include asthma, arthritis, obesity, diabetes and metabolic syndrome, heart disease, inflammatory intestinal conditions, depression, migraines, skin conditions, some cancers, fibromyalgia, and many other conditions.

The ALCAT team has improved their reliability and has introduced new procedures and new tests including various herbal panels. These herbal and functional food panels are extremely helpful for those who take herbs or who need to follow the leaky gut and detoxification programs.


Elbony Jones - Production Manager

Elbony Jones is the Production Manager for Cell Science systems. Ms. Jones holds Bachelor’s of Science Degrees in Micro-Molecular Biology and Chemistry from the University of Central Florida. Prior to joining CSS in May of 2008, Ms. Jones held Quality and Production positions with Tyco Healthcare, Osmetec Molecular Diagnostics, and Dow Halterman. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling with her mother and sister, shopping, and sneaking a few servings of red items from her ALCAT results.


Michael A. Mclean, BSc, MSc, PhD Candidate

Medical Laboratory Manager

Michael McLean is currently in the final stages of completing his doctorate in Dietetics and Nutrition at Florida International University (FIU).  His present study is co-coordinated with four Ph.D. researchers at FIU. He has co-authored a few research studies, one of which is entitled “Serum adiponectin and ghrelin, metabolic syndrome and diabetes status in Cuban Americans” is accepted for publication in the peer reviewed journal “International Journal of Health Research”.  Presently, he is a research team member in a diabetes study in African-Americans and Haitians that is being conducted at Florida International University.  Mr. McLean earned an Associate of Arts degree in Pre-medicine from Broward College (1986), a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Chemistry (1989) and a Master of Science degree (2001) in Dietetics and Nutrition from Florida International University.  He is a member of the national honor fraternity “Phi Theta Kappa” and a founding father of a Greek fraternity at Florida International University known as Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE).  Michael was the president of FIU’s Table Tennis Association and he was the table tennis champion at FIU from 1987-1989.

Michael holds a membership in The American Society of Nutrition, a non-profit organization for clinical nutritionist and membership in American Society for Clinical Pathology, a professional board certification organization.  He holds a medical laboratory supervisor license in the specialties of Hematology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Immunohematology, and Serology.  Michael has been actively employed in the laboratory since 1986 and during which time he has gained experience in laboratory testing methodology such as genetic testing, PCR, ELISA, RIA, HPLC, DFA, IFA, AFB, and Cell Cultures.

Michael McLean is the medical laboratory manager for Cell Science Systems, where his primary focus is to constantly improve efficiency and efficacy of all facets of the laboratory, which translates into saving money and generating an overall satisfaction of patients and clients of CSS. Michael currently resides in Pembroke Pines, Florida with his wife Zunilda and is the proud father of sons A.J. and Adrian Luis and daughter Kasey Diana.
